Discover London Buses

Hello!

London Buses are very popular in London,

there are many around and everyone gets on and off to get around

the city. They are red and not so fast, but some drivers drives them so fast

that you really have to  hang yourself very tight, otherwise you fall off.

But among all the buses in London, there is one that is very special.

Today I want to introduce you

this very special London Bus who is a very good

friend of mine.

RM 168 via Waterloo!

168 is his name

via Waterloo, his surname

and he is a Routemaster Bus

A very special model from the past

that everyone loves!

168 via Waterloo is a Routemaster bus, but not just any RM buses,

he is a speaking one,

  – even though most people

can ‘t hear him –

and he is a very, very old bus…

the oldest bus to still travel around London

In this blog I’ll tell you about the best places and the most fun things to do in London!
The month of February is a very special month for us children because is half term! Yeah!! The city is full of
wonderful events, workshops and activities for us! And I can’t wait to get there with my friend the London Bus.
For this post I have chosen
THE SOUTH BANK
SOUTH BANK
a beautiful building which you’ll find by the River Thames just by the London Eye! The South Bank is a building full of artists who perform for kids and grown-ups. Sometimes you have to pay -sometimes you don’t.. and yes, some events are FREE ….which I like very much! I love the foyer in particular as it is a place where you can play, relax and have fun! Sometimes you can listen to music and see people dancing there! The 9th of Feb starts the Imagine Children’s Festival’
which will last until the 22nd of February.
Among the many events don’t miss (Tuesday February 3, 2015 South Bank) the ON READING AND
WALKING AND THINKING performance that last until March! Artist Emmanuelle Waeckerlé will walk, dance,
and draw through a world of words…It starts tomorrow at 11. For the events starting from the 9th you can
check the ALICE IN WONDERLANDS INSTALLATION and whorkshop- FLAMINGO CROQUET where you can play croquet with Alice in the Cloakroom – a famous actor with a long beard called Russell Brand will be there too! Here children can play the with the flamingo of the Carol Lewis book! Then there is OUR CITY; where you can pretend to be a MAYOR for one day. During this event, we children will be given the opportunity to present ideas to improve the city where we live. I love this one! I have lots of ideas for LONDON myself!!!.; Then  ANIMAL RESCUE Become an animal rescuer hero; during this event we children will be ‘given the opportunity’ to save an animal of our choice as per in the book by Patric George who tells us how we can improve the lives of animals. I’m going to save Pigs -because they are pink and are very intelligent and nice !! In addition to all the other animals, of course !! Then there is CIRCLE IN THE SAND presented by Half Moon in the Foyer Space – an interactive theatre where kids up to three years old can play and experiment with sand through castles, music and buckets ( Blue Room) And this is are just some of the event – for the music lover I invite you to come see SOUTH BANK SCHOOL OF ROCK in the Foyer Space and the Kids MUSIC LAB. If you like to write stories, come to the THE FAIRY TALE HAIRDRESSER where you can learn how to write short fairy tales; and the MAD HATTER AND MAKS workshop, THE RED HOUSE BOOK AWARDS, actor Russell Brand will read his children’s book, the presentation of THE DTHE DINOSAURUS ARE HAVING A PARTY one of my fav children’s book Writer ANTONY HOROWITZ (17 Feb) will talk about ALEX RIDER, In any case, whether you are attending the writing workshops; If you enjoy writing stories or short stories or poems you can participate to the BEATRICE AND THE LONDON BUS – WRITING COMPETITION posting your written story directly to my FB page or your drawing for the BEATRICE AND THE LONDON BUS – DRAWING COMPETITION – All the stories and drawings will be published then on the website by DAILY FAIRY TALES and the winners of the two competitions will receive a SPECIAL PRIZE!!
